5/31/2026-Garden City jumped out early with eight runs in the first inning, then added two runs in both the second and third innings to build a commanding lead.

The Wind finished with 13 runs on 17 hits. Rob Morosetti went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Darius Freeman added three hits, a triple, two RBIs and two runs.

Jaxon Hamada helped his own cause at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs. Jason Ramos also had three hits and scored twice, and Aaron Izquierdo drove in two runs.

North Platte battled back late with three runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth. Carson McCurdy led the 80s offense with two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored, while Garrett Flaagan drove in two runs.

Hamada started on the mound for Garden City and allowed just one run on one hit over four innings while striking out six. The Wind bullpen held the lead the rest of the way.

Garden City’s big first inning and 17-hit attack carried the Wind to the 13-7 road win over North Platte.
