3/10/2018-The Wichita Wingnuts continued to round out
their position player corps on Friday,
announcing the signing of young infielder Logan
Trowbridge.
Trowbridge spent 71 games in the American
Association last season with the Salina
Stockade, hitting .224 with nine doubles, three
triples, and one home run. The 24-year old
showcased his incredible versatility by playing
at least one game at every position except
pitcher, though he spent much of the season as
the Stockades shortstop. Trowbridge began the
2017 season with the Tucson Saguaros of the
Pecos League, where he played just five games
before being snapped up by Salina.
The Santa Cruz, Calif., native made his
professional debut in 2016 with the Pecos
Leagues Great Bend Boom, hitting .359 with
five home runs and 45 RBI in only 58 games.
Trowbridge also stole 29 bases in 34 tries,
while recording more walks (36) than strikeouts
(31).
Trowbridge, a right-handed hitter, kicked off
his collegiate career with two seasons at the
junior college level with the College of San
Mateo. After hitting a combined .245 over the
course of those two seasons, Trowbridge
transferred to Cal State Bakersfield as a
junior. He established himself as the
Roadrunners starting catcher, gunning down 16
of 29 attempted base-stealers as a senior,
while hitting .220 in 257 collegiate at-bats.
For his career at Bakersfield, Trowbridge
recorded eight doubles, four triples, and one
home run.
Trowbridges signing brings the number of
Wingnuts players under contract for the 2018
season up to 15. American Association clubs may
carry up to 28 players during spring training,
which opens on May 6.
