6/21/2011-Alpine sweeps Carlsbad in Carlsbad New Mexico.
The Pecos League played its first neutral site series in league history in Carlsbad New Mexico.
The event served its purpose but could not have been under worse scheduling conditions.
The teams played a Sunday Father's Day doubleheader that began at 4:05 with game time tempuature at a cool 106 degrees.
The cross winds were blowing at around 30 mph. The infield grass was so high players couldn't tell what color shoes they were wearing.
Attendence wasn't the best at the three game series but it at least introduced the city of Carlsbad to the Pecos League.
Many fans and people in the community took notice and this should be the stepping stone for the getting a team in Carlsbad in the 2012 season.
The team would have to occupy the ballpark complex built on Lea Street. "We were very happy with the support from Mayor, Newspaper and Regional Businesses"
