1/3/2018-Bryan Kloppe will manage the
Bakersfield Train Robbers for the 2018 season.
The Train Robbers are preparing for their 2nd
season of baseball in the Pecos League.
Bryan is a dual resident of Buckeye, Arizona
and Cheltenham, Victoria Australia.
Bryan Kloppe is no stranger to the Pecos
League, he was a player for the Roswell
Invaders in 2014 and 2015 season and was a part
of their 2015 Championship Team.
In 2016 Bryan took over as the field manager
and built an Invaders team that set every
offensive record in Pecos League History.
That year the Invaders fell in the Southern
Division finals in a grueling extra inning
series to the Tucson Saguaros.
In 2017 with Kloppe as the manager, the
Invaders won both rounds of the Mountain
Division Playoffs to reach the Pecos League
Finals. The Invaders lost in the Pecos League
Championship Series to the High Desert
Yardbirds.
If the offseason he has been playing for the
Cheltenham Rustlers of the Victorian State
League in Australia.
With the Rustlers he has also held down
numerous coaching positions, most recently as
the player-head coach of the mens team during
the 2017-2018 season.
Bryan attributes his success as a pitcher to
having an ability to command four pitches (FB,
CB, SL, CH) at all times and keeping hitters
off balance. He is a sidearmer who can pitch
deep into games with every start. He is not an
overpowering pitcher, but has the ability to
get outs and give his team a chance to win on a
consistent basis.
Bryan on his strengths as both a player and a
coach:
"My time working for Major League Baseball as a
batboy and clubhouse assistant, playing college
and professional baseball and managing in
professional baseball as well as in Australia
have prepared me for any role in baseball as a
pitcher, coach, or in management."
Bryan has also been a key component as a
pitcher for the Houston Apollos in the Pecos
Spring League who won back to back
championships in 2016 and 2017.
"I am ready for the new challange on the West
Coast. I really appreciate everything is
Roswell, we had a great run there, I was not
going to come back to the Pecos League but when
Bill Moore left Bakersfield for Tucson I knew
it would be a great job."
"Kloppe knows all the variables for success in
the Pecos League and will immediately make
Bakersfield a contender." say Andrew Dunn of
the Pecos League.
