11/3/2012-When there was talk of the Pecos League moving to Las Vegas many people were immediately confused. At the same time many managers and players requested an immediate transfer. Las Vegas Nevada is obviously a great destination for many tourists across the US. Quietly hidden in between Santa Fe and Raton lies Las Vegas New Mexico. Las Vegas is an original railroad town and was one of the biggest centers of the railroad in the 1800's. Today Las Vegas New Mexico is without a doubt a baseball town from top to bottom. The population is only 14,565 yet they host two college baseball teams. New Mexico Highlands plays in the Division II Rocky Mountain Athletic Confrence and Luna Community College recently moved into the Western Junior College Athletic Conference of the Junior College Ranks. Las Vegas is very excited to add the Pecos League and the Train Robbers to its mix with the Pecos League starting the week after both New Mexico Highlands and Luna are completed.
