CLEBURNE, Texas -- Maikol Gonzalez reached
three more times, but Salina scored early and
often in a 6-2 win at The Depot on Friday
night.
Gonzalez reached three times after three walks
in the series opener on Thursday, but the
Railroaders stranded eight runners and fell to
6-5 in their last 11 games against the
Stockade.
Salina scored once in the second before back-
to-back homers in the third, and Kewby Meyer
singled in two more after an RBI groundout in
the fifth.
Cleburne wasted leadoff singles in the fourth
and sixth innings before loading the bases with
nobody out in the seventh, and the Railroaders
came away with just one run on an RBI groundout
in the inning.
Geraldo Valentin went 1-for-3 with a walk and a
run scored, and Mitch Glasser reached twice in
his first game since July 28.
Mitch Abeita went 2-for-4 with a pair of
singles in his second start with Cleburne.
Railroaders starter Jordan Chudacoff, making
his first start in the American Association,
gave up six runs on five hits over 4.1 innings.
Bryce Beeler finished the night with 4.2
scoreless innings in relief.
Josh Hodges, making a third start against his
former club, gave up just one run on six hits
over seven innings.
Game 3 of the four-game set is scheduled for
Saturday. First pitch is set for 7:06 p.m. and
can be heard live on the Railroaders Radio
Network with the pregame show beginning 20
minutes prior.
