The Roswell Invaders withdrawl attempts to play at NMMI.

9/26/2012-The Roswell Invaders withdrawl attempts to play at NMMI. For the 2nd year in a row the Invaders failed to land at NMMI and will either go back to Coca-Cola Park or move games on the road. NMMI was seeking for the Invaders to assist in fund raising for a new field turf infield. After researching have the Invaders play games at NMMI, it was determined it would be neccessary for artifical turf. Under the plan the Invaders and NMMI would split the cost of the infield which could be as high as $250k. The Pecos League does not currently play on artifical turf fields.

The Invaders will move into the Northern Division have fewer home games and play at Joe Bauman Park. NMMI had been researching the Invaders playing for over a month. Both in 2012 and 2013 almost all of our fans begged us to move the team to NMMI, I tried and it will not be happen. They own the field it is out of my control. Any baseball person of any caliber can immediately NMMI is a better surface and it will sit idle againn next summer. The City of Roswell again welcomed us with open arms so that is where we need to play. I am ready to rebuild the staff and the team with the options we have in Roswell. The Welcome mat is becoming very very thin in Roswell. "

The Invaders will begin Spring Training likely in Trinidad, Co or Raton New Mexico and begin with nine road games before settling back in at Joe Bauman Park. The Invaders will begin signing players and announce their new coaching staff within one month.
