3/8/2017-The Houston Apollos defeated the Coastal Kingfish 9-1 behind Tomas Gutierrez's strong pitching outing. Tomas pitched 5-1/3 inning with 9 strikeouts allowing 1 unearned run. Shortstop Joe Davis went 3-3 with four runs scored for the Apollos. Scott Stetson went 2-5 with a triple for the Apollos.

The Kingfish got a strong pitching performance from Cody Freeman. He pitched three solid innings. The Kingfish used five pitchers in the game.
