Pecos League Fans get to show their opinions of who will win the title in 2012 Papi Mills Tularosa, NM White Sands Pupfish will win the league, there is so much support and pride in the area. We will be first in league in attendence.Alpine Cowboys will finish 2nd they have alot of good players from the league and have a lot going for them.Trinidad Triggers will finish in 3rd place due to the fact of their coach.Santa Fe Fuego will finish fourth because they have alot to prove to Santa Fe, I think they will be a surprise. They will do very well.Las Cruces Vaqueros will finish 5th they cannot be as organized as they could be. They have lowest supportRoswell will finish sixth-Chris Paterson was the main stay for them and he is an unrecoverable and the team will fall. Eddie Larkin Del Rio, Tx I believe there are three things that will decide the winner of the 2012 Pecos League title; the coaches, talent on the field, and fan & community support. The talent will be pretty good on all teams because there is so much out there to chose from. If a player starts to shine on one of the teams, he is likely to be picked up by a higher level team, so I dont feel talent alone will decide the champion. All teams will have good coaches but Chris Patterson is the only coach to win a Pecos League title. Almost as impressively, he took the Roswell Invaders to El Paso for their first ever game, an exhibition against the El Paso Diablos before the start of the 2011 season. Granted it was not an official game for either team but both teams wanted to win, and the experienced Diablos should have easily beaten the Invaders. However, by the end of the game, it was all Invaders. They were not only the victors but as I observed, they were the best team on the field that night.I think the deciding factor will be fan support. Last year the home team had a significant advantage in Pecos League play, indicating to me that fan support motivates the players much more than at lower levels (i.e., high school or college) or higher levels of professional baseball. Im not sure why maybe its the typical small size of Pecos League cities. Alamogordo seems to have the best community support but Trinidad may be a sleeper in this area. Alpine does well but it is the smallest and most remote city. Las Cruses renovated their stadium but didnt seem to show the support you would expect from the largest Pecos League city last year. Santa Fe is an unknown for support and Roswell seems to be lagging the other established Pecos League cities. So for my choice, look for the White Sands Pupfish to win the 2012 Pecos League title and Chris Patterson to receive an offer to move up to a higher level after another 1st place finish in the Pecos League! Brian DeGruchy Roswell NM,I feel that Roswell, White Sands second. Alpine third, Trinidad fourth, Los Cruses fifth and Santa Fe sixth. Miguel Salcedo Vaqueros Superfan Santa Fe Native-Las Cruces-Best city, best players. White Sands-lost alot of good players. Roswell new coach, new system, new players.Trinidad-Lowery will do a good job to get the team in playoffs, alot of traveling will hammer these guys. Lowery is great coach if he makes the playoffs. Alpine-I know he has good players coming in but they will struggle with huge trips to Santa Fe- they have no chance to win games in this league with their roster... obsolutely no chance Matthew McNeile Jr. Alamogordo, NM says the White Sands Pupfish will win the league, Trinidad Triggers will finish second because they took all of our players staff and coaches from last year, Santa Fe Fuego will finish third with Bill Moore's experience, Las Cruces Vaqueros will finish fourth because their new field will boost attendence and all free agents will want to go there, Alpine Cowboys will finish 5th, Roswell Invaders will finish 6th because they will devastated losing Chris Paterson. I don't know the new manager and don't want to know him. Chris is better. I am glad Chris is coming to Alamogordo. Bernard Degruchy Roswell, NMI feel that the Invaders can stand up to White Sands, even though it will be a battle of wits between two excellent managers.I feel that Roswell has the best and most loyal fans around. Roswell out drew all the other teams and their fan base has many fans that continually come to the games and stand behind their team; giving the Invaders players a huge boost. Roswell also has several key players returning which should keep the momentum going from last year. Because of the above reasons, I feel (and hope) that Roswell has a better than average chance of repeating last years stupendous performance.White Sands will come in second place mainly due to the superb managing of Chris Paterson. Alpine, being a long established team, and their come from behind performance at the end of the season, give them third place. Brian, my son says that Trinidad will come in fourth place because their manager, being the assistant for White Sands last, has league experience. I will pick Los Cruses for fourth place, being that they have had league experience from last year and are familiar with the other league teams and their ball parks. This should give the edge to all other returning teams above.Between Santa Fe and Trinidad, I will pick Santa Fe to come out ahead, solely because Mini Essery, the coach at Trinidad, has openly come out for no reason and started trash talking down the Invaders by insulting our (Roswell's lime green stitched ball) new team baseball. Ernie Gonzalez-El Paso/Roswell White Sands-1-the manager won the league last year the city will support the team, their travel is managable.Santa Fe-2-new team in big market will draw well and good players will want to play there. When the dust settles they will lose championship game. Unbelievable homefield advantage with that field/altitude.Trinidad-3-will have a great home record and they will be centrally located to get players from midwest US easier than other teams.Roswell-4-. Everyone wants to beat us this year an people aren't happy with new manager. We aren't bringing back our players.Alpine-5-The interest from fans is no longer there and it will be very hard to recruit players to move out there by Waco.Las Cruces-6- not a sports town. It will be hard for league to pay players when they average 12 fans a game. I went to Roswell/LC game last year and we had more fans than they did. Their stadium staff tried to kick us out of the park for using clappers, we were the only ones in the house.I am ready for some baseball. GO INVADERS!Benny C-director of security for PupfishWhite Sands-we are the pupfish best team, best security 1st. If we had a manager last year we would have won.trinidad-they know the secrets of White Sands, half of them are from here.sfroswellLas cruces-alpine-They used the family showers on the way home last year and these showers are unavailable.
