The Pecos League was founded in 2010 with teams in (Alamogordo Las Cruces Roswell Ruidoso, New Mexico and Alpine Texas. The league only had five teams so it had to have a travel team called the Carlsbad Bats. Lubbock was the first choice of the league but the Pecos League couldnt come to terms with any of the ballparks in Lubbock including Dan Law Field, Babe Ruth Field, LCU or any of the high school fields.) Lubbock was the geographic centerpoint and could have been the headquarters of the Pecos League. Lubbock is ideal for travel in the Mountain Division of the Pecos League. The problem is there is no ballpark that will allow beer sales and will welcome independent baseball. The Lubbock Crickets burned any potential relationship with Dan Law Field in late 1990s.
Despite many supporters and immediate entertainment in the Summers of Lubbock until there is a ballpark there will be no baseball in Lubbock
- 2012 The Pecos League attempted to play in Dan Law field and Babe Ruth Field but were denied both places. The Pecos League expanded to Santa Fe, NM and Trinidad Colorado.
- 2013 The Pecos League attempted to play in Babe Ruth Field and Dan Law Field but were denied both places.
- 2014 The Pecos League attempted to play in Babe Ruth Field. The city considered the Hubbers in 2014 and this was the closest this project got
- 2015 The Pecos League expanded to Garden City, Kansas and attempted to play at Cornado High Schools field. Despite meeting with school officials there would never be beer and ultimately it did not get off of the ground.
- 2016 The Pecos League moved to Tucson Arizona and three teams to Kansas and did not attempt to move to Lubbock
- 2017 The Pecos League was transferred the Stadium Lease to Potter County Stadium for 9 days before Potter County Judge nullified the lease and gave the stadium to a private high school for free. The Pecos League was in the middle of a move to California taking over High Desert and Bakersfield from the California League.
- 2018 The Pecos League did not attempt to goto Lubbock.
- 2019 The Pecos League is attempting to goto a private high school or Babe Ruth Field Pecos League is attempting to play at MacKenzie Park with the Lubbock Hubbers. Renovations have to be made and beer has to be sold.
