11/22/2014-The Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs will have again have a new crop of players with over 50 players promoted during the 2014 season. Pecos League teams will rely heavily on the five Pecos League Tryouts and the Pecos Spring League to fill their rosters. The Pecos Spring League was created in 2012 with the purpose of filling regular season rosters with top quality free agents and rookies. The Pecos Spring League is expecting an all time high number of players for the 2015 season which is in Houston, Texas in March 2015. Players play for three weeks and then Pecos League Teams and other Independent League Teams draft and sign players to get ready for the season. These teams will be starting from the ground up and be seeking entirely new teams. " I expect to sign 8-10 players from the Pecos Spring League. When I see a player play for 3 weeks I know what kind of player I am getting. At a tryout camp it can be pure pot luck." says Santa Fe Fuego Manager Bill Moore. Moore also coaches Garden of Gears in the Pecos Spring League. Moore had 5 Spring League Players on his 2014 Championship Team Roster. "With the amount of effort we have put into the Pecos Spring League it is the only Developmental League players can attend and get a contract in the Pecos League. Almost ever Winter League or Developmental League is a dead end road for the player. I can assure you this is not the case in the Pecos Spring League. We have jobs for players and connections to other leagues who are looking for players. There are other leagues made deals with coaches to basically invite players to Spring Training and release them. The player is the loser in this situation. No matter how well that player performs he is released. If you look across the country there are developmental and winter leagues popping up everywhere, however none of those leagues have actual jobs for the players. In the Pecos League and Pecos Spring League the two leagues are connected giving players the highest chance of earning a contract. We have around 48 paying jobs for players that we will try to fill with Pecos Spring League. If a player is on the fence of making a team or getting his foot in the door it really makes a difference. If a player isnt qualified to play in the league we will let them know. "

We have had many players goto to other leagues and the one thing they all say is that the pitching is substantially better in the Pecos Spring League and comparable to what they will face in a professional league. The Pecos Spring League has been a major asset for the The regular season Pecos League. The Spring League is ideal for good players that weren't drafted and are looking for one more opportunity." There was 11 quality starting pitchers in the 2013 season including Pecos Spring League MVP Brett Kinsel and Pecos League Pitcher of the Year Edison Alvarez.
