10/24/2023-The 2023 Inaugural season for the Blackwell Flycatchers is complete and now the Flycatchers are looking to the 2024 season. Like many expansion teams the Flycatchers team saw changes that improved their team throughout the course of the season. The Flycatchers record was 17-25 and they lost eight games due to rainouts. 8 of the 17 wins came against the Austin Weirdos who finished with a record of 1-45.
The Flycatchers season highlighted by a July 8th (5-4) win over the Tucson Saguaros.
By July the Flycatchers had a great press box operation and concessions team.
Joey Dice was the first ever Blackwell Flycatchers All-Star. He participated in the game in Alpine, Texas.
Andrew Dunn of the Pecos League: "Blackwell proved a great place to have a baseball team. The community proved they can support a team. The City was supportive and easy to work with. 2024 will be even better because everyone knows what to expect."
Luke Poselovic Field Manager of the Flycatchers says:
"Players and people didn't know what to expect in the first season, now the word is out about how good of a place Blackwell is to play. The people in the community treat the players well and players loved being here. We will take a step forward in 2024."
The 2024 season will feature a quality Flycatchers Team from opening day.
The Flycatchers open the 2024 season in Santa Fe against the Fuego on May 30, 2024. The Flycatchers home opener is June 3, 2024 against the Garden City Wind. Follow the Flycatchers online at
