The Douglas Diablos (11-16) beat the Bisbee Blue (17-11) 9-3 on Tuesday thanks to a three-run eighth inning.
The Douglas Diablos scored in the eighth on a two-run triple by Malquiel Brito and a sacrifice fly by Logan Lotti.
Brito racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Douglas Diablos.
Donavan Rigel brought the heat against the Bisbee Blue during his outing. The Bisbee Blue managed just one hit off of Rigel, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his three innings of work.
Mike Perrone was hot from the plate for the Bisbee Blue. Perrone went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.
Bret DeRooy improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Douglas Diablos. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered nine hits.
Craig Lipp was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
