5/20/2014-The Pecos Summer League begins in Houston Texas on May 31. The Pecos Summer League gives players a chance to play and develop and immediately be called up to the Pecos League.

With the Pecos League's expansion to 10 teams the Pecos Developmental League was formed out of neccessity the supply players to the Pecos League during the regular season. It is the best way for unsigned free agents or overlooked collegiate players to showcase themselves and get signed to a pro contract during the summer. Two teams will play in the Pecos Developmental League in the 2014 season the Las Cruces Vaqueros and the Coastal Kingfish. The Pecos Developmental League is an amateur league. The teams will play each other and against the Coastal Baseball League will also play games against the Pecos Developmental Teams.
