7/24/2011-Alpine sweeps White Sands to return to the Playoff Race. Alpine is currently only 1-1/2 games out of fourth place. The Cowboys have positioned themselves good with Carlsbad coming to town for a three game series. Then August 3rd-August 6th, the Cowboys travel to Las Cruces in what could be a battle for the final playoff spot. Las Cruces has a 4 game series with White Sands this week. The Alpine Cowboys end the season with a four game series hosting Ruidoso. The season will most likely come down to the final day of the year. Alpine has dug out of a deep hole.

• On Thursday Alpine won 4-0 with a Alfredo Caballero shutout.
• On Friday Alpine won 11-3 behind big hitting from Nacho Ochoa and James Kono
• Saturdays games were rained out.
• Sunday Game 1, Kevin Foeman pitched 5 innings allowing two runs to lead Alpine to a 4-2 win.
• In the 2nd game Sunday Alpine scored three runs in the bottom of the 7th with doubles from Kyle Wells and Andrew Riddick to sweep White Sands

Meanwhile White Sands continues to fall, Chris Smith signed with the Washington Wild Things after the game today. He pitched excellently in a 4-3 loss. He had a 3-1 lead going into the bottom of the 7th.
