TRINIDAD TRIGGERS Professional Baseball Concludes 6th Successful Season at Central Park

Trinidad, CO- The Triggers wrapped up the season 3rd overall in the Mountain Division of the Pecos League after taking on the Roswell Invaders in the first round of the Playoffs in Roswell, NM on July 30, August 1 & 3. The Triggers schedule consisted of 59 games total with a record of 36-23, the season started May 25 in Garden City, KS.

Triggers Manager Thomas Nelson stated after the playoff series, "I finally have the team I always wanted, and I couldnt be more proud of this group of guys. We may have come up short, but I wouldnt have the team any other way. I want to individually thank each of you for the heart you guys gave every day. Also, would like to take the time to thank the Trinidad fan base, without you, none of this is possible. I cant forget our Triggers staff, all of you are capable of moving mountains for this team, thank you for doing everything you do, and I appreciate you. Thank you Trinidad, for making me the happiest Ive ever been...I cant show enough gratitude."

The entire team played very well throughout the regular and playoff season and had many accomplishments; notably, the Triggers promoted 6 players and manager Thomas Nelson to other independent leagues; including the American Association Baseball League and the Pacific Association during the course of the season and post-season.

Fan attendance for The Trinidad Triggers Professional Baseball Clubs 6th season in the city topped out at 5000 over the course of 32 home games. With the help of the City of Trinidad, the Historic Main Street Board and Tourism Board, sponsoring the Independence Weekend Celebration that featured the ballgame and fireworks on July 4th bringing hundreds of fans to the ballpark for an All-American Holiday experience.

Triggers General Manager Kimberly Schultz expressed her appreciation in a statement; "without the full support of all the Triggers stakeholders; the city, the fans, the host families, sponsors, media, boosters, volunteers and staff, this baseball club would not have been able to sustain over the last 6 seasons. This season was a huge success; the team brought great family entertainment to our fair city; they led in the division throughout the season, and went to the playoffs. I couldnt be more proud of this team. The Triggers staff is looking forward to the 2018 season and Trinidad hosting the Pecos League All-Star Game in July!"
