Unofficial 2012 Invader Awards
I know that the 2012 season is over and everyone is looking forward to the 2013 season, but I would like to look back and recognize some of the players with the first ever Invader Photo Player of the year awards. I am probably not the most qualified person to give out baseball awards, but I also had a very unique view of game.
Now for the awards:
Invader MVP –Third Base, Wes Kartch: Wes was the most consistent player on the team. He hit .370, with only 12 strike outs in 262 at bats. He also played in 64 games.
Invader Pitcher of the Year – Right Pitcher, Nate Johnston: Nate lead the league in innings pitched with 82.1 and strike outs with 71.
Invader Sprit – Catcher, Nate Goldstein: Nate always had a positive attitude and was the first person to help pick up the other players sprits when things were not going well.
Golden Glove – Short Stop, Brycen Bell: I had someone tell me the difference between a good short stop and a great short stop was that a good short stop made the hard plays, but a great short stop makes all the plays look routine. That is Brycen. He was always at the right place at the right time.
The Closer – Right Handed Picher, Charlie Short: Charlie had 6 saves, pitched with a 0.60 ERA. He was here only a short time, before being picked up by the Yankee’s.
Mr. Utility - Brian Ramirez: Brian played in 63 games and I think he played everywhere except for catcher and pitcher.
Offensive Player – Second basemen, Josh Cakebread - Between hits, walks, and being hit, Josh was always found a way on base. Josh had 96 hits, 62 walks, and hit by pitches 62 times. That adds up to 220 times on base in 254 at bats.
Most Improved Pitcher from the 2011 Season. Dakota Luefenberg came back this season and posted an impressive 0.90 ERA and stepped in as the closer when Charlie left for the east coast.
Most Improved at the Plate from 2011: AJ Morris went from a .265 batting average in 31 games to .374 in and played in 59 games. He also drove in 36 more runs.
