Key at bat helps the Topeka Train Robbers defeat the Great Bend Boom 8-6

Gabriel Acevedo was cold coming off the bench, but Acevedo warmed up quickly as Acevedo stroked a key pinch-hit single in the seven to lead the Topeka Train Robbers (6-9) to an 8-6 win over the Great Bend Boom (8-7) on Sunday at Bettis Complex.

With the Topeka Train Robbers trailing by one in the seventh inning, Acevedo came to the plate and singled, scoring Sam Pack.

Pack racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Topeka Train Robbers. He singled in the seventh inning.

Tyler Shannon recorded his second win of the year for the Topeka Train Robbers. Shannon struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.

Phillip Ramos ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
