The Roswell Invaders outlast the Tucson Saguaros in extras 9-7

The Roswell Invaders (10-6) put in a full days work in a 10-inning, 9-7 win over the Tucson Saguaros (14-4) Sunday at Kino Veterans.

With the score tied at seven, Kaohu Gasper came to the plate and doubled, scoring Blake Oliver.

Cody Bishops had a hot bat, as he picked up five hits off the Tucson Saguaros pitching. He tripled in the first inning, singled in the third and fifth innings, and doubled in the tenth inning.

The Tucson Saguaros had no answer for Lance Fairchild, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Fairchild held the Tucson Saguaros hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Adam Urbania racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Tucson Saguaros. He singled in the second and third innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Steven Cazares recorded his first win of the year for the Roswell Invaders. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Aaron Smith (0-2) was the games losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
