4/12/2019-Founded in 2016 the Salina Stockade are the only team in baseball history to play in four leagues in four years. The name Stockade refers to the Stockade that was built around Salina, Kansas in the early 1900s that could not be penetrated by enemy forces. The Stockade are the only team in independent baseball history to play in three different leagues in three consecutive years. The Stockade have always been a travel team with limited or no home games. In 2016 and 2017 the Stockade called Salina, Kansas home and played home games at Dean Evans Stadium in Salina, Kansas. The Stockade are owned and operated by the Pecos League with Andrew Dunn serving as director. David Peterson has been on all coaching staff in some capacity. The teams colors are Navy Blue, Royal Blue, Powder Blue, Silver and White.
For the 2019 season, The Salina Stockade will serve as the Travel Team in the Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs. The Stockade will not play any home games. The Pacific Association of Baseball Clubs in a six team professional baseball league in San Francisco Bay Area that was founded in 2012. Teams in the Pacific Association are the San Rafael Pacifics, Sonoma Stompers, Vallejo Admirals, Napa Silverados.
In the 2018 season, the Salina Stockade served as one of two international teams in the CanAm League. The CanAM League is based in Quebec and Metro New York City. The Stockade replaced the Cuban National Team who had served as the International Travel Team in 2017. The Stockade played an 18 game schedule playing each of the full time Can Am League Teams three times. The teams in the Can Am League were the Rockland Boulders, Sussex Miners, New Jersey Jackals, Quebec Capitales, Trois Riveres Aigles, Ottawa Champions. The Stockade completed the season with a 4-14 record playing many close games.
In the 2017 season, the Salina Stockade served as the replacement travel team in the American Association of Professional Baseball Clubs. The American Association is a 12 team league that followings I-35 through the heart of the United States. The teams in 2017 were the Winnipeg Gold Eyes, Fargo Morehead Redhawks, St Paul Saints, Sioux Falls Canaries, Sioux City Explorers, Gary Railcats, Lincoln Saltdogs, Texas Airhogs, Cleburne Railroaders, Wichita Wingnuts, and Kansas T-Bones. The Stockade replaced the Laredo Lemurs one week before the season. The Stockade completed the season with an 18-72 record. The Stockade played eight games at home at Dean Evans Stadium in Salina, Kansas. In 2018 the Chicago Dogs entered as an expansion team to give the league a balanced number of teams. In 2019 the Milwaukee Milkmen replaced the Wichita Wingnuts to keep the league balanced at 12 teams.
In the 2016 season, the Salina Stockade served as the travel team in the Pecos League. The Stockade played 10 home games against the Great Bend Boom and Topeka Train Robbers at Dean Evans Stadium. Dean Evans was heavily used as was not available to host series only individual games. The Stockade narrowly missed the playoffs having one the leagues best pitching staffs and worst offenses.
