An excellent effort by Vincent Mejia hoisted the Roswell Invaders (42-15) to a 7-3 win over the Alpine Cowboys (34-23) on Saturday.
Mejia rocked the Alpine Cowboys with two home runs. Mejia went 3-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Mejia homered in the third and fifth innings.
Despite the loss, the Alpine Cowboys Noah Piard dominated the Roswell Invaders batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.
Steve Sanguliano recorded his second win of the year for the Roswell Invaders. He allowed three runs over eight innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered nine hits.
Sean Kistler (1-1) took the loss for the Alpine Cowboys. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
