An exceptional effort by Will Walsh carried the Las Vegas Train Robbers (32-21) to a 13-5 win over the Trinidad Triggers (31-24) on Thursday at Central Park.
Walsh hit two home runs for the Las Vegas Train Robbers. Walsh went 3-6 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Walsh homered in the fourth inning.
The Las Vegas Train Robbers blew out the Trinidad Triggers thanks to 12 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Las Vegas Train Robbers scored three runs in the seventh on a solo home run by Ryan Lauer and a three-run home run by Lauer.
The Trinidad Triggers couldnt get anything going so long as Chuck Fontana was on the hill. The Trinidad Triggers managed just one hit off of Fontana, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
Wink Nolan racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Trinidad Triggers. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Atsushi Hebisawa improved to 5-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Las Vegas Train Robbers. He allowed two runs over five innings. Hebisawa struck out five, walked two and gave up three hits.
Benji Waite (5-3) took the loss for the Trinidad Triggers. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked two and struck out four.
