Monday was a great day for Frank Florio, as he hit two home runs to carry the Trinidad Triggers (31-22) to a 17-1 victory over the Las Vegas Train Robbers (30-21) at Central Park.
Andrew Lopez was the lone bright spot for the Las Vegas Train Robbers in the loss.
Lopez got on base three times in the game for the Las Vegas Train Robbers. He singled in the second and seventh innings.
The Trinidad Triggers had no answer for Lopez, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Trinidad Triggers managed just one hit off of Lopez, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none during his one inning of work.
The Trinidad Triggers didnt let up, as they kept racking up runs until the end. The Trinidad Triggers scored four runs in the last three innings to finish off the blowout win. The Trinidad Triggers scored seven runs in the second on a passed ball, an RBI single by Matt Hunt, a home run by Jacob Fabry, a solo home run by Florio, and a passed ball.
The Trinidad Triggers relied on Nick Mutz to eat up innings en route to the win. Mutz allowed no earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out six over eight innings of work.
Shayne Miller couldnt get it done on the mound for the Las Vegas Train Robbers, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked none and struck out three.
The Trinidad Triggers pounded the Las Vegas Train Robbers pitching, as six hitters combined for 12 hits, 16 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
