Tuesday was a great day for Joel Carranza, as he hit two home runs to carry the Alpine Cowboys (22-18) to an 8-3 victory over the Las Vegas Train Robbers (23-17) at Kokernot Field.
The Alpine Cowboys relied on Shane Youngdale to eat up innings en route to the win. Youngdale allowed no earned runs, eight hits and two walks while striking out six over eight innings of work.
Atsushi Hebisawa (4-1) was the games losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three.
Carranza, Logan Lotti and Derrick Fox helped lead the Alpine Cowboys. They combined for five hits and six RBIs.
