Wednesday night was not a good night for Pecos League teams, as weather played havoc with the schedule..

Heavy rainstorms in north central New Mexico washed out both the Taos/Las Vegas game and the Santa Fe/Raton matchup.

This Blizzard/Train Robber game will be made up Friday as a doubleheader, while the Raton game is expected to be made up during a future series between the two teams.

Things were even more interesting in Roswell, where the Triggers and Invaders got through two innings -- Roswell was leading 1-0 on first-inning singles by Chad Kruse and Ryan Normoyle, a sacrifice bunt by Roger Bernal and a sac fly by Vincent Mejia.

Neither team scored in the bottom of the second, then, just as the Invaders took the field, a huge wind/dust storm blew in from left field, obscuring any chance of seeing the ball.

The officials called a brief delay, then Jason Venya walked and pitcher Kellen Quintana hit a ball high into left that literally got lost in the blowing dust, dropping in for a single.

After that, another delay was announced and eventually both managers and the officials, with approval from commissioner Andrew Dunn, agreed to postpone the game until Thursday at 4 p.m., when the teams will pick up where it left off, then, following the conclusion of Game 1, play a seven-inning second game.
