8/4/2016-Garden City, Kansas-The Trinidad Triggers took game one of the best of three series on Wednesday Night at Clint Lightner Field.
Garden City jumped on Trinidad starter Kyle McKay who allowed 5 runs in the bottom of the first inning including a three run homer by Eli Roundtree.
The Triggers chipped away and chased starter Austin Boyle from the game after 5 innings.
John Nicholson had key rbi doubles in both the 3rd and 4th innings where the Triggers scored two runs in each inning.
Cameron Powers pitched a scoreless 6th for the Wind.
In the 7th inning the Triggers scored three runs off of reliever Craig Jaquez and another run off of Chip White to take a 9-5 lead.
Eli Roundtree doubled in another run in the 7th for Garden City but that would be all the offense the Wind could generate.

Daniel Karasinki helped Kyle McKay get out of the first inning and pitched another scoreless inning.
Jake Swartout pitched two scoreless innings
Eric Williams pitched three innings allowing two runs, but also went 2-4 at the plate as a hitter.
Dominic Monda and Paul Fahey combined to pitch a scoreless 8th
Toby Eigner pitched another scoreless 9th for the Triggers.
The two teams meet again Thursday Night for Game 2 in Garden City. Start time is 6:30 CST.
