Eric Maria put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Santa Fe Fuego. He singled in the second inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and homered in the seventh inning.
Nick Minot improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Santa Fe Fuego. Minot struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.
Zac Johnson was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
The Santa Fe Fuego hammered the White Sands Pupfish pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 13 hits, 15 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
