The Great Bend Boom (18-37) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-1 to the Garden City Wind (34-23) on Thursday.
The Garden City Wind took the lead in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Beau Welborn.
DJ Carr picked up the win for the Garden City Wind. Carr pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, seven hits and no walks while striking out five.
Logan Trowbridge had a hot bat for the Great Bend Boom. Trowbridge went 3-4. He singled in the fourth, sixth, and ninth innings.
Toni Hernandez (0-2) was the games losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
