The Garden City Wind (33-23) beat the Great Bend Boom (18-36) 2-1 on Wednesday at Clint Lightner behind Eric Esquilin, who went 1-2. He singled in the seventh inning.

Austin Boyle picked up the win for the Garden City Wind. Boyle pitched nine innings and allowed one earned run, seven hits and one walk while striking out six.

A bright spot for the Great Bend Boom in the defeat was Stephen Swagerty, who allowed only one run while striking out five.

It was a good day at the plate for the Great Bend Booms Logan Trowbridge. Trowbridge went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the ninth inning.

Dave Hannan (0-1) took the loss for the Great Bend Boom. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
