The Roswell Invaders (41-16) beat the White Sands Pupfish (23-35) 9-6 on Monday at Joe Bauman Park behind Cody Coffman, who had two extra base hits. He singled in the first inning, homered in the fourth inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.
Zac Johnson was solid at the plate for the White Sands Pupfish. Johnson went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning and singled in the eighth inning.
David Johnson improved to 9-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Roswell Invaders. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out six, walked none and surrendered 10 hits.
Taylor Elman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked one and struck out eight.
Coffman, Bobby Webb, Rene Moreda and Joey Miller helped lead the Roswell Invaders. They combined for 11 hits and eight RBIs.
