An impressive effort by Bobby Webb carried the Roswell Invaders (37-16) to a 24-13 win over the Santa Fe Fuego (15-38) on Thursday at Fort Marcy Park.
Webb rocked the Santa Fe Fuego with two home runs. Webb went 3-6 in the game with five RBIs and four runs scored. Webb homered in the first and second innings.
Each team blasted the others pitching, and there were 37 total runs and 41 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using nine pitchers in total.
The Roswell Invaders blew out the Santa Fe Fuego thanks to 25 hits, including zero extra base hits. Joey Lacugna racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Santa Fe Fuego. He singled in the second and third innings, doubled in the seventh inning, and homered in the ninth inning.
Even though Eric Gleese allowed eight runs over six innings he still recorded the victory. He struck out seven, walked two and surrendered 10 hits.
Daniel Muller ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in one inning, walked two and struck out none.
The Roswell Invaders pounded the Santa Fe Fuego pitching, as seven hitters combined for 20 hits, 23 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
