Macyn Clifford went 2-4 and hit a home run as the White Sands Pupfish (17-28) took home a 4-3 victory over the Santa Fe Fuego (10-31) at Fort Marcy Park on Thursday. He homered in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Zach Skelton picked up the win for the White Sands Pupfish. Skelton pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, seven hits and no walks while striking out four.
Louis Martini paced the Santa Fe Fuego at the plate. Martini went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Zack Carter ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just eight innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
