A walk-off solo home run from Tevin Padgett brought home the winning run for the Great Bend Boom (11-12) in a 6-5 victory over the Garden City Wind (13-14) in 10 innings at Al Burns Field on Friday.
Padgett reached base four times. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the eighth innings and homered in the tenth inning.
Logan Trowbridge improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Great Bend Boom. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered one hit.
Chip White ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
