The Salina Stockade (5-8) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Santa Fe Fuego (3-13), recording a 13-6 victory on Thursday at Fort Marcy Park.
Eight runs in the first three innings allowed the Salina Stockade to put the game away early. An RBI single by Mike Rachun, a three-run home run by Nick Wagner, and a two-run double by Steven Longo in the first inning and a solo home run by John Carlos Peralta and a groundout by Wagner during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Salina Stockade.
Wagner racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Salina Stockade.
Tim Blackmon struck out 10, paving the way for a the Salina Stockade win. Blackmon allowed two earned runs, four hits and four walks over six innings.
Chris Tavares racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Santa Fe Fuego. He homered in the seventh inning and doubled in the ninth inning.
Thomas Zarewicz couldnt get it done on the mound for the Santa Fe Fuego, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in one inning, walked one and struck out one.
The Salina Stockade hammered the Santa Fe Fuego pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 14 hits, nine RBIs and 11 runs scored.
