The White Sands Pupfish (5-7) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 7-4 to the Salina Stockade (4-7) on Sunday.
While the White Sands Pupfish led until the seventh inning, the Salina Stockade worked their way back and took the lead on a two-run error.
Mike Rachun put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Salina Stockade. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third and seventh innings.
Skyler Janisse kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight the White Sands Pupfish batters. Janisse allowed four earned runs, 10 hits and three walks over nine innings.
Shawn Kahre ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
