The Great Bend Boom (4-1) and the Topeka Train Robbers (0-4) each put runners in scoring position on Monday, but the Great Bend Boom capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out an 8-3 win at Al Baird Field.

Ian Home had two extra-base hits for the Topeka Train Robbers. He doubled in the fourth and sixth innings and singled in the ninth inning.
Ian Miller improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Great Bend Boom. He allowed two runs over four innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered six hits.
Will Gerhard (0-1) was the games losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
