3/13/2016-The Garden of Gears got a quality start from Craig Jaquez who pitched four innings allowing 3 runs while striking out 4. Austin Rockford pitched three scoreless innings of relief allowing 3 hits and striking out 4. Craig Jaquez again got the game winning rbi with a key two rbi single in the 4th. Manny Colon and Kevin Alvarez continued their hitting with two hits a piece.

The Lions got another great outing from Roy Merritt. He pitched 3 innings striking out 4 and allowing just 1 run. Will Gerhard came on in the 4th and allowed 6 hits and 5 runs. TJ Pruneda came on in the 5th and pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless ball to end the jam for the Lions.

Logan Clifton's bunt hit was thrown down the right field line in the top of the 4th leading to a 3 run innings and a lead for the Lions. The Lions actually outhit the Gears with 9 hits from 9 different players. But the Lions ran themselves out of the game. Eric Olivo tried to stretch a single into a double in the 3rd made the 3rd out of the inning with the heart of the lineup due up. Geraldo Salvaldi got thrown out in the top of the 7th down three runs to end the Lions scoring threat.

The Lions fell the 2-3 with the loss. the Gears moved to 4-1 with the win. Both teams resume action on Tuesday.
