Jeffrey Neptune was cold coming off the bench, but Neptune warmed up quickly as Neptune stroked a key pinch-hit single in the seven to lead the Trinidad Triggers (22-12) to a 12-11 win over the Alpine Cowboys (20-15) on Wednesday at Central Park.
With the Trinidad Triggers trailing by one, Neptune came to the plate and singled.
Emmanuel Paulino blasted two home runs for the Trinidad Triggers. Paulino went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Paulino homered in the fifth, fifth, and eighth innings.
Each team blasted the others pitching, and there were 23 total runs and 28 hits during the game. There were 10 pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.
Colin Forgey put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Alpine Cowboys. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and homered in the eighth inning.
Daniel Karasinski improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Trinidad Triggers. He allowed one run over 2 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered three hits.
Matt Robertson was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
