Chris Dragone was cold coming off the bench, but Dragone warmed up quickly as Dragone stroked a key pinch-hit single in the six to lead the Trinidad Triggers (12-3) to a 15-9 win over the Las Vegas Train Robbers (5-10) on Friday at Clint Lightner.
With the Trinidad Triggers trailing by one in the sixth inning, Dragone came to the plate and singled, scoring Christian Schneider.
The two teams combined for 24 runs and 25 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were nine pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.
The Trinidad Triggers stamped out any hope for the Las Vegas Train Robbers with five runs in the seventh. The Trinidad Triggers scored in the seventh on an RBI single by Edmund Cheatham, a three-run home run by Trevor Sealey, and a solo home run by Caleb Baker.
Cheatham racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Trinidad Triggers.
Dragone got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Dragone struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
Mustafa Hamed (0-2) was the games losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
The Trinidad Triggers pounded the Las Vegas Train Robbers pitching, as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 14 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
