The White Sands Pupfish (24-27) had a tough outing on Monday, as the Alpine Cowboys (39-18) dominated in a 15-5 win at The Aquarium.
The Alpine Cowboys scored six runs in the ninth on the Alpine Cowboys scored in the ninth on a passed ball, a two-run double by Casanova Donaldson, and a three-run triple by Austin Prott.
The Alpine Cowboys were led by a flawless day at the dish by John Hotta, who went 4-4 against the White Sands Pupfishs pitching. He singled in the second, third, fifth, and ninth innings.
Anthony Figliola picked up the win for the Alpine Cowboys. Figliola allowed one earned run, eight hits and two walks while striking out five over 7 2/3 innings of work.
The White Sands Pupfish were led by Miguel Castanos hitting. Castano went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the eighth inning and doubled in the ninth inning.
Ian Drapsho (4-2) was the games losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked three and struck out three.
The Alpine Cowboys hammered the White Sands Pupfish pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 15 hits, 12 RBIs and eight runs scored.
