An awesome effort by Casanova Donaldson hoisted the Alpine Cowboys (18-5) to an 18-9 win over the Santa Fe Fuego (14-6) on Wednesday at Fort Marcy Park.
Donaldson rocked the Santa Fe Fuego with two home runs. Donaldson went 6-6 in the game with four RBIs and five runs scored. Donaldson homered in the seventh and ninth innings.
Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 27 runs and 31 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were eight pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.
Eleven runs in the first three innings helped the Alpine Cowboys blow out the Santa Fe Fuego. A three-run home run by Austin Prott during the first inning and a solo home run by John Hotta, an RBI double by Donaldson, an RBI double by Tyler Heck, and a two-run double by Brian Milliman in the second inning fueled the Alpine Cowboys offense early.
