It took 11 innings, but the Bisbee Blue (6-7) managed to put away the White Sands Pupfish (4-10) 4-3 on Friday at Warren.
With the score tied at three, Matt Horan came to the plate and singled.
Daniel Aldrich had two extra-base hits for the Bisbee Blue. He doubled in the second innings, homered in the fourth inning, and singled in the eighth inning.
Horan handled the White Sands Pupfishs lineup with ease, racking up 11 strikeouts. Horan allowed three earned runs, seven hits and one walk over nine innings.
A bright spot for the White Sands Pupfish in the defeat was Mike Mezaros, who allowed only one run while striking out five.
Craig Lipp improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Bisbee Blue. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered two hits.
Mike Ormseth (1-3) took the loss for the White Sands Pupfish. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out seven, and allowed three runs.
The Bisbee Blue were sparked by Elvin Rodriguez and Aldrich, who teamed up for six hits and two RBIs.
