July 11 2019 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 19-6 after scoring in seven of nine innings and finishing with 19 hits. The teams exchanged two-run first innings before Trinidad took control with two runs in the third, one in the fourth and six in the fifth to build an 11-2 lead. The Triggers added a run in the sixth, three in the eighth and four in the ninth.
Tim Henry led Trinidad with four hits in six at-bats, including a double and a home run, while scoring three runs and driving in one. N. Shumpert went 3-for-6 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored.
Trey Bigford hit a two-run home run and finished with four RBI, and
Jakob Shuler homered twice, scored three runs and drove in two.
Abel Arocho also homered and had two hits and two RBI.
Santa Fe collected 14 hits, including three from
Rick Phillips and two apiece from Kyle Butler,
Jackson Webb and
Robert Garza.
Nick Herzog hit a home run as a pinch-hitter and drove in one run.
Jacob Cobb-Adams earned the win for Trinidad with a complete-game effort, allowing 14 hits and six runs, five earned, while striking out eight and walking one. Alex Merithew took the loss after allowing 12 runs, 11 earned, on 14 hits in 6.1 innings.
