July 1 2019 The Tucson Saguaros rallied for a 5-3 victory over the Roswell Invaders after overcoming an early deficit at Cherry Field. Roswell scored twice in the third inning and added another run in the fifth to take a 3-0 lead, but Tucson answered with two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh.
Matt Paciello led Roswell’s offense with two hits, including a home run and a double, while driving in one run.
Austin Maltby added an RBI, and
Nolan Hoff also collected two hits. Roswell finished with seven hits but committed five errors.
Lawrence Chavez paced Tucson with one hit, two runs scored and the Saguaros’ only RBI.
Riley Richarz and
Caleb Wichman also had hits, while
Michael Klein added a hit off the bench. Tucson scored five runs on four hits and drew four walks.
Connor McGuinness earned the win after allowing two hits and one earned run in four innings.
Kris Keach struck out six over three innings, and
Robby Medel closed with a scoreless ninth for the save.
Carson Corff took the loss for Roswell despite striking out eight in 6.1 innings; he allowed two runs, while
Albert Neff surrendered three runs in 1.2 innings.
