11/5/2018-The Houston Apollos defeated the Coastal Kingfish 7-1 on opening day in the 2018 Hudson River League. Zech Zinecola and Mike Reeves had a pitchers dual going through 4 innings before the Apollos scored six runs in the 5th. Anthony McInteyre lead the way for the Apollos. Anthony was 2-3 with a key double and a key rbi single He also pitched three scoreless innings out of the pen to earn the save. Chris Perez pitched 2-1/3 scoreless innings for the Kingfish.

Zinecola struck out 9 hitters in 4 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run. McIntryre struck out 3 hitters in 3 innings.

For the Kingfish Mike Reeves struck out 7 Apollo hitters in 4-2/3 innings. Chris Perez struck out 5 in 2-1/3 innings. Kyle Wagner was 2 for 3 for the Kingfish and he had 2 of the teams 3 hits on the day.
