Les Capitales se donnent la vie facile!
27 juin 2018
Capitals give themselves easy life!
June 27, 2018
The Capitals have given themselves easier life than the day before Wednesday night in an 8-0 win over the Hollywood Stars in front of 2527 spectators.
Karl Glinas paved the way for his teammates by launching 7 flawless innings of 9 strikeouts! The Quebecker took his 6th win of the season, his fourth in a row, before giving up his place to the reliever Andrew Elliott who followed the lead for the last two rounds.
"It was very good! It seemed like he was in total control. He probably could have started a full match. We wanted to give Elliott more than a third of the heat, which did not start much recently, "said manager Patrick Scalabrini.
The offensive part came from all the members of the team, even the newcomer Nick Gotta who, true to his reputation, has reached the trails twice without hitting a hit.
Third baseman TJ White hit 3 of 13 hits from the Capitals. He accumulates 8 in his last 4 games. During the evening, he also produced 1 point and crossed the marble 2 times.
"Its always good to score several points," said White. It helps to maintain confidence, especially since yesterday they almost came back from behind. I definitely feel more comfortable
"You see he is more comfortable, he puts less pressure. He looks more like the guy we signed, "Scalabrini added.
This unequivocal victory of the Capitals sets the table for a possible first sweep this season while the Hollywood Stars will end their stay in the Can-Am Thursday night at the Stade Canac at 19:05.
Match Notes
The two recent acquisitions Nick Gotta and Nick Van Stratten joined the Capitals during the day. The latter landed late in the late afternoon which prevented him from taking part in the batting practice and, consequently,
