5/21/2011-Home Field Advantage taken to extreme measures in the Pecos League.
There have been 24 home games in the Pecos League 23 have been won by the home team.
If this continues Carlsbad won't win but three games all year. Carlsbad is 0-8 without playing a single home game. The Bats have played the two established teams Las Cruces and Alpine and haven't come close to winning a game, they have been in most of the games
Roswell won the only road game of the year beating Alpine 7-0. They lost 2 at Ruidoso and lost 3 at Alpine, they can't wait to get back to Roswell next week to host Cruces.
"It's brutual on the road. Someone needs to check the umps" says manager Chris Paterson
White Sands has played three home games winning all and losing every other road game played. "Our fan support and atmosphere is 2nd to none" says manager Keith Essary.
Ruidoso has won all 4 home games losing the other 4 home games.
Offense is so explosive for the Osos in Ruidoso they have scored at least 15 runs in every home game. On the road they have scored no more than 5 runs in any game
Las Cruces has quietly won all 7 home games it has played dropping one contest at White Sands. Alpine has won 7 games despite dropping one home game to Roswell..
With such wide ranging facilities altitudes and umpires players often feel like they are in different countries when they are only miles apart. The terrain, altitude and field conditions between Las Cruces, Alpine, Ruidoso, Roswell and Alamogordo couldn't be more different.
