June 15 2013 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Taos Blizzard 2-1 at Kokernot Field. Alpine finished with seven hits and no errors while Taos collected five hits and committed one error.
Alpine scored both of its runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Logan Lotti doubled and scored, and
Joel Carranza followed with a two-run double that also brought home Lotti. Taos answered with one run in the fourth but could not complete the comeback.
John Apostolo led Taos with three hits, including a double, and one RBI. For Alpine, Carranza had a double and one RBI, while
Brycen Bell added an RBI and
Casanova Donaldson recorded two hits.
Brian Smith earned the win after allowing one run on four hits with three walks and six strikeouts in six innings.
Matt Marra pitched a scoreless seventh with one strikeout to earn the save. Steve Sanguliano took the loss for Taos after giving up two runs on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts in six innings.
