July 1 2011 The Roswell Invaders defeated the White Sands Pupfish 25-15 in a high-scoring game at Coca Cola Park. Roswell collected 20 hits and took advantage of nine White Sands errors, while the Pupfish finished with 13 hits and six errors.
Roswell built an early lead with four runs in the first inning and one in the second before breaking the game open with a 10-run third. The Invaders added four runs in the fourth and two in the fifth to take a 21-4 advantage. Roswell later scored in the seventh and eighth innings, while White Sands mounted a 10-run ninth-inning rally that narrowed the final margin.
Adrian Martinez led Roswell with four hits, three runs and three RBI, including a home run and a double.
Clint Stottlemyre added three hits, two runs, four RBI and three walks, while
Brycen Bell drove in four runs.
Clifton Thomas had three hits and two RBI, and
Matt Palko contributed two hits and two RBI. For White Sands,
Jerome McCollum went 3-for-5 with three runs, and
Ernie Munoz and
Justin Smith each drove in three runs.
Reed Brown earned the win for Roswell after allowing six hits and five runs, four earned, in six innings with six strikeouts and two walks.
Yoshinori Machida followed with a scoreless inning.
Brandon Glazebrook took the loss for White Sands after surrendering seven hits and 12 runs in two innings, with six runs earned.
