June 21 2011 The White Sands Pupfish defeated the Las Cruces Vaqueros 9-3, scoring in four different innings to secure the win. White Sands took control with four runs in the second inning, added one in the fourth, one in the seventh and three in the eighth. Las Cruces scored twice in the sixth and once in the ninth.
Chris De Biasi led White Sands with three hits, including a double, two runs and one RBI.
Jerome McCollum and
Ernie Munoz each had two hits, with McCollum scoring twice and driving in one run while Munoz added two RBI.
Jamaal Jackson drove in three runs, and
Robert Rodriguez finished with two hits and one RBI as the Pupfish collected 12 hits.
Paul Jinkens earned the victory after allowing four hits and two runs, two earned, in seven innings. He walked three and struck out eight.
Kyle Boggio took the loss for Las Cruces despite striking out seven in seven innings; he allowed 10 hits and six runs, three earned, with four walks.
Mike Duckworth pitched the final inning for the Vaqueros, allowing two hits and three runs.
